The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at Le Moyne College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in mathematics and actuarial science starting Fall of 2019.
The applicant is expected to have an active and independent research program in actuarial science or related fields resulting in peer-reviewed publications. In addition to this, the applicant is also expected to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in teaching classes relevant to our actuarial or statistics concentration and the risk management minor at the Madden Business School. The applicant will be expected to engage in student mentoring and perform professional service both at the departmental and college level. The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the new departmental pursuit of becoming a Center of Actuarial Excellence.
At the time of hiring, candidates are expected to have a doctoral degree in Actuarial Science or a closely related field, such as financial mathematics, probability or statistics; obtained (or be close to obtaining) status of Associate of either the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuaries Society. It is desirable that applicant plan to continue their certification until they have achieved the designation of Fellow.
