Responsibilities include the development, analysis and reporting of all relevant statistical data related to the financial performance, earnings and loss experience of company’s various automotive-related voluntary protection product lines. This includes applying knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes, construct probability tables to forecast risk and calculate liability for payment of future benefits with an eye on maintaining underwriting profitability. Additional responsibilities include regular interaction with internal or client personnel with a focus on leading or participating in discussions regarding program performance analysis.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manage analysis of company’s loss experience across all product lines.
Develop and propose risk reserve pricing methodologies for all product lines.
Analyze and forecast financial performance of risk reserve, contingent commission and reinsurance treaties for the benefit of company and/or client program(s).
Plan, develop and deliver quarterly program performance and loss experience reviews to both internal and external stakeholders.
Analyze, reconcile and provide feedback on loss experience, underwriting profitability and reinsurance reporting provided by insurance carrier underwriters.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or Accounting; 7+ years of relevant statistical analysis experience; certifications and experience commensurate with Fellow or Associate in Society of Actuaries, Member of American Academy of Actuaries or CERA/equivalent risk management certification; Ability to compile, analyze, refine, and interpret large amounts of financial data/results and model projections; Ability to marry both qualitative and quantitative information to make an informed judgment including recommended course of action; and, evidence of the following: a keen attention to detail, a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
