JOB SUMMARY Applies essential actuarial skills and principles to support a variety of assignments within the Research and Development department. Responsible for routine projects and may assist in complex projects.

Producing, analyzing, and communicating actuarial research in collaboration with R&D personnel and other business partners.
Implementing actuarial research to advance business goals.
Providing independent peer review of actuarial research.
Maintaining steady progress through actuarial exams according to the goals established with management.
Traveling as needed to engage in actuarial training.
Complete other projects as assigned.

Demonstrated basic actuarial, analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Strong PC skills
Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
Because the company’s niche is the church and related ministries market, and because effective service requires a thorough understanding of this market, persons in this position must be familiar with church operations, and must conduct themselves in a manner that will neither alienate nor offend persons within this target niche.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or any other major with significant quantitative course work with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Must have passed or earned transferable credit for two or more of the following actuarial exams; 1, 2 3F, MAS-1, MAS-2, OC1 AND OC2, 5, or 6.
One year of business, actuarial or R&D technical experience desired.
Must have a commitment to pursuing and successfully completing CAS actuarial exams.
Master of Business administration (MBA) or equivalent would be beneficial. CPCU designation is desired.
