CGI’s Insurance Information Services has an exciting Actuarial opportunity at the Director level to engage in an initiative to improve collection, data accuracy, and reporting processes of insurance data.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Applying your actuarial knowledge and experience in auto and home insurance to deliver on actuarial and other insurance projects. • Contributing to team success through sharing knowledge and insights, being proactive and motivated. • Lead QA and coordinate the development, review and approval of industry insurance reports. • Mentor & train team members. • Research & recommend statistical and reporting tools. • Support in communication to industry and regulators. • Coordinate to resolve issues in data reporting.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 5-7 years as actuary in the P&C Insurance Industry • Proficient in programming in SQL, Python, SAS, SPSS, or R for data manipulation and quantification • Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field of study. • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries • Familiar with the new accounting and capital frameworks under IFRS-17 • Extensive knowledge of the Property Casualty insurance industry and general insurance operations • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to understand context and its impact on all issues • Strong organizational skills • Adapts to change effectively • Knowledge and experience in model development best practices. • Experience in reserves and capital valuation and knowledge of financial statements. • MS Office proficiency • Self-starter and goal-oriented • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and customer relationship skills
