Homesite Underwriting Managers (HUM), the Programs Division of Homesite Insurance, is seeking a Sr. Actuarial Analyst to provide analytical and technical support to the actuarial team. The successful candidate will have experience with claims and finance and be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail, and comfortable working in a team environment. This position will report to the HUM Product and Pricing Manager.

Understand basic actuarial concepts and methods
Knowledge of external data sources such as ISO and SNL
Support development, implementation, and maintenance of templates for rate indications, rate monitoring, and profitability reviews both by Program and by Line of Business
Work closely with HUM Compliance and Pricing/Product Managers to produce actuarial filing exhibits for New Programs as well as existing Programs as needed
Assist in monthly reserving processes ensuring data reconciliation
Work closely with HUM CAT Risk Associate to prepare HUM Program policy data for quarterly modeling and compile exposure and premium data for reinsurance submission
Work closely with Homesite and Midvale Product Compliance Analysts and individual Program Administrators to provide appropriate levels of data required for state (or other) data calls on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis
Be able to build ad-hoc possibly complex reports from data warehouse to be consumed by HUM senior management and underwriters

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Science, Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Engineering
5+ years of P&C Insurance experience, preferably in an actuarial and/or Commercial Lines role
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communications skills
Strong sense of curiosity with ability to learn quickly
Ability to work independently using own initiative and be a good team player
Excellent skills in Excel including experience with large complex workbooks
Proficient programming skills including SQL (i.e. proc SQL, Transact SQL) and VBA (beneficial)

HUM’s office is in Holmdel, NJ and they are open to a hybrid work arrangement with days in the office dedicated to collaboration and moments that matter.
