Sutton National Group (“SNG”), a rapidly growing insurance carrier group and a 777 Partners portfolio company, is looking for an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst to support the Actuarial Department.
This position will report to the Vice President of Actuarial and will be involved with assisting in the development of the pricing and reserving capabilities of SNG’s Actuarial Department. This includes working collaboratively with both internal and external clients; the ability to contribute meaningfully with ad-hoc analyses and projects from start to finish; ability to communicate results and findings of all work; demonstrate curiosity and ability to identify new opportunities and areas for improvement and value add.
This position can be remote or can be located in our Boca Raton or Dania Beach offices in Florida. Flexible partial remote/in-office schedule can be accommodated. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform comprehensive actuarial evaluation of new program opportunities and develop recommendations.
- Review program rating and recommend revisions as appropriate.
- Work with internal partners to develop and maintain reports to monitor KPIs for each program, including but not limited to loss ratios, historical rate changes, claim frequency/severity, aggregation, limits profile, class/industry profile, etc., and the ongoing monitoring of inforce portfolios.
- Develop automated rate level indications and reserving analyses spreadsheets.
- Conduct periodic profitability reviews for each program.
- Perform quarterly reserve analysis to establish and monitor IBNR reserves for each program, including allocation of IBNR to line of business and jurisdiction.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects on an as-needed basis.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
- Self-motivated with time management and organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Excellent analytical skills with advance data analytics experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field.
- Preferred Years of Experience and Exams:
- 2+ years of property and casualty insurance or reinsurance actuarial experience in any combination of pricing and reserving; and
- 3+ actuarial exams.
- Experience in developing and automating pricing and reserving analyses.
- Experience with Power BI preferred.
